KLBar Inclusive Community Outreach Programme to Taman Tasik Datuk Keramat - 29.10.2017

"A group of 20 lawyers provided free legal advice to the public, particularly concerning children and crime issues, as a part of the initiatives to spread awareness and share the knowledge with the public.
According to the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee chairman, Goh Siu Lin said it is part of a pilot project named ‘Tindakan Komuniti Inklusif Anak Muda’ (Community Action Inclusive of the Young) participated by them."

The KLBar community outreach was supported by Suriana Welfare Society, Wibawa Women, Majlis Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Malaysia and Drop & Wash. The programme aimed to provide FREE LEGAL AID at Datuk Keramat aimed at helping underprivileged youths in the area. In addition to the free Legal Aid Clinic which was run with the assistance of volunteer lawyers from the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre (Kuala Lumpur), the  many other activities included:

  • English Workshop;
  • Counselling & Guidance;
  • Child Abuse (Sexual abuse / bullying) Awareness;
  • Connecting unemployed youths with training and employment opportunities with SMEs (An adoption registration for “Program Mentor-Mentee Bersama SME”);
  • Self-Defence Workshop;
  • Fun Archery.
